Does anyone have any comment on Free whelping? It is our job to better the breed but how do you know if your bulldog is able? Has anyone went threw this successfully? Most vets are against this, anyone recommend a vet with experience with free whelping a bulldog?

free whelping, this is all i know by my own experience and by talking to my vet,at creek view in new braunfels.
my dog rosie got pregnant by making an incision about 1 inch in the belly and injecting the semen into the uterus, most vets recomend this(surgery),why??because they make more money than artificial insimination.artificial insimination is as efective as surgery and less traumatic and less expensive, acording to my vet.well,so she got pregnant 1st litter we figured due date 60 days after surgery, then fed her good nutritious food a lot of controversy about this too.the day came and my wife and i were in constant contact with the vet (last vet) we saw rosie digging outside then brought her inside then the water broke ,we called the vet ,he said to time the contractions they will look as if rosie was going to the bathroom, sounds familiar anyone??so all of the sudden here comes a puppy in a mucus sack,we gave it to rosie and she started liking it then bingo it yelp,20 minutes later another one, same history, then another one,so we got 6 puppys.the first 4 about 20 to 30 minutes apart came out alife the other 2 came out death.why??they got suffocated inside, also the last one of the 4 die about 24 hours later, rosie started feeding all the puppys right away which gave them the much needed first milk to boost their inmune system, they all survived and are healthy puppys.now rosie future second litter. as bulldogs aged their hips became more rigid making it harder to pass the puppys ,so we will monitored her and watched when the water brakes and then take her to the vet for a c section, this will improved the survival rate of the puppys, however the puppys will need to be bottle fed until rosie recovers and is able to recognize her puppys. so yes, they are able to free whelp as long as they are young, but the survival rate of the puppys decreases dramatically.that's my history and i stick to it.
